I assume that isn't our fault and in this case maybe we cannot / won't work around problems in old versions of other projects in which case it might be best to disable automatic .deb builds for the affected platforms.

Perhaps we should make "make check" be more verbose if a check happens to fail, though.

make check writes separate log files which have more detail about the
failed test or tests, named tests/foolisp.log where foolisp is the name
of the implementation.

That is right. But in case of the build server that does the maxima
nightly builds for ubuntu and sends e-mails if anything fails we don't
have access to these files.
