Graphics in Maxima for Android

Hi,

I have a question about graphics in Maxima for Android
(especially to the author of that great app);
perhaps anybody knows an answer:

Whe I make a plot, a separate graphics window opens;
with the back-softbutton I can return to Maxima,
but the graphics still remains in background.

When I try to produce another graphic,
Maxima hangs and does not respond any more.

How can that be fixed?
Is it possible to "kill" the graphic explicitely
in order to be able to produce another graphic?

Thanks in advance,

I have failed to duplicate this in Android 4.2 on a Nexus 7 or in Android
4.1 on a transformer tf101. I have tried using the up cursor key, the
Android back key and the Android task switcher.

Can you confirm that you are switching back to the Terminal emulation
application. This provides that interface to the Octave application. The
octave application that appears in task switching is running in the
background and you interact with it through the terminal emulation program.

Dear Wilhelm san,

Could you please share the information of the details of your device?
- device product name (such as ASUS Google Nexus 7)
- Android OS version (such as 4.2.1)
- the version of Maxima on Android you are using

This will help me to start the investigation.

I have tried this on three machines. On all three the message was not
displayed and the second graph was displayed. The machines were

Asus transformer tf101 android 4.03

Samsung S2 Phone Android 4.04

Nexus 7 Android 4.2.1

All report the latest version of Maxima On Android 1.6, Dec 16, 2012 (JB
MR1) except the
Nexus 7 has (JB MR1 or after) instead of (JB MR1).

It is a great pity that it is not working on your Galaxy as the screen
looks very good. You have probably tried uninstalling and reinstalling the
app. I have found that this has cured some problems with miscellaneous apps.

Dear Yasuaki!
Thank you for your answer; sorry for my delay (influenza has
tied me to bed for a couple of days).
I have repeatedly observed that the first call of draw2d works
fine most times, subsequent calls bring the device to hang
- not always but very often.
I have appended some screenshots to demonstrate that.
- Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Model Number GT-N8000)
- Operating System: Android Version 4.04
- Maxima on Android 1.6, Dec. 16,2012 (before JB MR1)
Thanks,
Wilhelm

Dear Wilhelm san,

I have tried the draw2d command in your picture on my Pantech phone
with 2.3 Gingerbread
and 4.2.1 Nexus 7 as well as emulator with 4.0.3 (API level 15) and
4.1.2 (API level 16). All
combinations work fine and error was not reproduced.

It seems your picture was taken not using the real Galaxy but the SDK
emulator with the
tablet setting, with success of reproducing the bug.

Assuming that, would you kindly share with me the emulator setting as
well as how to install
the APK?

Thanks and best regards,
