I'm wondering ... Is it really necessary to test the actual Gnuplot
functionality? Wouldn't it be enough to make sure that Maxima
generates the input to Gnuplot correctly? Of course we should still
test whether Maxima is able to invoke Gnuplot and communicate with it.
But in my opinion, testing Gnuplot itself should not be Maxima's
concern, but Gnuplot's.
